Ingredients
  

Banana Bread Batter

  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar can adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon optional for flavor
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or almonds
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips optional for extra indulgence

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until mostly smooth.
  • Add sugar, melted butter (or oil), egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • If using, fold in chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a healthier version, swap white sugar for honey or coconut sugar, and use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour.
